As part of his role as State Committee Chair for National Disability Services, our CEO Mark Jessop attended the Sub Committee Enquiry into Disability Services in Tasmania last week.
The enquiry highlighted the fact that 140,000 people live with a support need in Tasmania and accessible services were not being provided to all of them through the State.
The Committee were interested in the fact that about a third of NDIS funding is underutilised. They also discussed how a lack of programs in regional areas and the increasing difficulty to meet NDIS eligibility made it hard for Tasmanians to get the support they need.
We look forward to continuing to work with industry and government to overcome these current challenges so that more Tasmanians can access the support they need.
