Your Role as a Rostering Officer

We have multiple opportunities in our Hobart and Burnie offices for empathetic and highly organised Rostering Officer. Working on a rotating roster in a small team, you will ensure the accurate creation and filling of rosters across our Operational Divisions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team responsible for the creation, maintenance and coordination of accurate rosters across all sites. You will ensure a favourable and constructive outcome for our clients by filling shifts in accordance with staff skills, experience, Enterprise Agreements and Work Health and Safety requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Rostering Officer you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all rostering enquiries.
  • Assist in the creation of roster templates with the Operations and Revenue teams to ensure the needs of our clients are met and staff are rostered in accordance with funding allocations, skills, and qualifications.
  • Ensure all rosters and shifts are compliant with the EA and WHS requirements.
  • Publish and maintain rosters for all sites, including contacting employees to fill vacant shifts for planned and unplanned absences.
  • Ensure all staff are checked in and out of shifts, investigating discrepancies to ensure the accurate and timely production of timesheets.
  • Ensure all staff are rostered for training as per the training schedule.
  • Communicate all roster changes with staff in a timely manner.
  • Follow policies and procedures and actively engage in continuous improvement.

About You

Required Skills and Personal Attributes (Selection Criteria):

  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of issues relating to people with disabilities, including those who have high support needs.
  • A positive, energetic, organised attitude, with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and contribute with innovative, positive solutions.
  • Capacity to understand and prioritise urgent tasks, problem solve and work effectively to achieve a solution to a critical situation. Ability to seek assistance and collaborate with the team when required.
  • Understanding of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems with an emphasis on rostering and scheduling.
  • Ability to learn software and systems and use them efficiently to complete tasks (training and support provided).
  • High level of attention to detail and very high standards of accuracy.
  • Rostering experience (desirable)

Working in the disability sector means you will also need the following (or ability to obtain):

  • Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old)
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (with NDIS endorsement)
  • Unrestricted Tasmanian Driver’s license
  • Certificate of full COVID19 vaccination (in-line with government requirements).

Note: A pre-employment medical will be required for this role (including drug and alcohol testing).
