After 20 years in the disability sector and 4 years at Nexus, our Intake Manager, Donna Coetzee is retiring this month.
As our first Intake Manager, Donna has always been on the frontline demonstrating Nexus’s client-first approach by tailoring her customer service to each person looking for support.
“This role of Intake Manager has brought me tremendous joy every time I heard a client I have helped to organise support for telling me how much they love their new home, their housemates or how wonderful they think their Support Workers are,” Donna said.
Donna’s passion for the rights of people with disability along with her knowledge and experience in quality management helped make the Nexus onboarding process more streamlined and made sure everyone who enquired was engaged and supported through the intake process.
As we bid our farewell to Donna this month, we are thrilled to announce that Jodie Denman has joined Nexus as the new Intake Officer. Jodie previously worked at Autism Tasmania as the Professional Learning and Development Coordinator and brings a wealth of industry and personal experience to Nexus.
Working with Nexus is not new to Jodie. During her tenure with Autism Tasmania, Jodie trained our four groups of staff through our Autism Capability Building Program. She was also one of the guest speakers at Nexus’s 25th anniversary celebration event.
“I am excited to join the amazing and dedicated team of people at Nexus,” Jodie said.
“I am eager to contribute my skills and energy into this wonderful new opportunity and am looking forward to connecting with existing and new clients of Nexus,” she said.
“My passion for supporting people with disability stems from my own personal lived experience as a mother of children with ASD and a sibling to a brother with multiple complex disabilities and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
“As I step into my role as Intake Manager, my hopes and aspirations are that I can provide a welcoming and efficient experience for all individuals seeking support with Nexus and that everyone engaging with our organisation through the intake stream feels heard, respected, and valued.”
We wish Donna a happy retirement and Jodie all the best in her new role!
