Today, on International Day of People with Disabilities, we recognise the contributions and achievements of over five million Australians with disabilities who shape our communities every day.
The annual International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPwD) is a United Nations-sanctioned day celebrating the achievements of people with disabilities and raising awareness of the work still needed to create inclusive communities.
“We acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of people with disabilities every day, but International Day of People with Disabilities gives us another opportunity to reflect on how our clients shape everything we do,” Nexus CEO Mark Jessop said.
In the lead-up to this special day, we were thrilled to see our North West client Frances and Team Leader Louise interviewed by ABC Radio for their ‘Northern Tasmania Drive’ program.
In a warm conversation, Frances shared her favourite Australian music album and touched on her newly renovated Nexus Supported Living house in Ulverstone
Thank you to ABC Radio Tasmania for including Frances and Louise in their coverage of the International Day of People with Disabilities.
